Sites nearest Toongari Reserve and the bush pocket around it get the closest attention to the perimeter, since termites and funnel-webs are at home in that kind of terrain. Closer to the village centre and Village Plaza, rebuilds are usually on tighter, more established residential blocks. Jamieson Park, near the water, adds another reminder that damp, garden-heavy ground close to the house is common on this peninsula, regardless of which side of it a block sits on.
Northern Beaches Council handles certification on the peninsula, and before it will sign off an Avalon Beach Occupation Certificate, two things need to be lodged: written proof mounted permanently in the meter box, and a certificate spelling out the products, the coverage and our licence number.
